Now... what was I going to write about?

Welcome to the Misfit Multipreneur newsletter.

This is my internet corner, my writing (thinking) hub and the journal of my work <> life integration-in-progress...

I'm Amanda and I'm a startup operator, coach, yoga teacher, artist and human being trying to navigate the world and my identity within it. (I'm also an accountant but I try not to talk about that).

In 2023 I suffered from burnout, depression and anxiety for almost a whole year.

Since the beginning of 2024, I've been rebuilding my career, home and life in a way that allows me to create and continue helping others to build exciting and impactful ventures.

I moved to Brighton temporarily for a design course and felt the pull of the sea (I grew up further down the coast near Portsmouth). And stayed here ever since! Nature was a key part of my recovery and I believe is hugely important for ongoing wellbeing.

I designed this newsletter to serve as an outlet for thinking through what and how I believe the world needs to change.

Some of the interests I want to explore in my writing are:

the future of work & the entrepreneurship skillset
the future of humanity
mutually beneficial human health (especially mental health and nervous system health) and nature's health
diversifying capital distribution and societal structures
creativity & art

I worked in fast-growing tech startups for almost a decade in generalist operations and business roles alongside brilliant technical colleagues. Technology is therefore a big theme in most of the things I think about. I am particularly interested in the intersections between tech, policy and ethics.
